Halotherapy

Halotherapy is known as salt therapy, and involves breathing in fine particles of salt dispersed into the air.

In the 1800s a man named Dr. Felix Bochkowsky noticed that men who worked in the salt mine had excellent respiratory function and more youthful looking skin. Considering that mining jobs were usually recognized as dangerous to life and health, salt miners seemed to be thriving on good health! Dr. Bockkowsky then decided to turn part of the salt mine into a health resort.

Halotherapy works because the salt emits negative ions. Injured and dis-eased cells are electron-deficient, so resting in an electron-rich environment benefits and heals cells as they absorb the electrons they need. In its fine-particle form, the salt also has antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral effects on the body's epithelial cells (one of the body's most important for protection and secretion).

Come, sit, relax, and take deep breaths while the halogen machine disperses fine particles of salt into the air. The salt works to rid your body of inflammation and mucus, support cellular healing, relieve stress, boost energy, relieve allergies, sinus infections, colds, and respiratory issues.

Hydration before and after your session is a very important part of this therapy.

Halotherapy is safe for children to use. One adult should accompany children too young to sit calmly for the 15 minute session. There is no additional cost for the adult to accompany the child. Parents will need to be sure to encourage their child to drink plenty of water.
