Infrared Sauna

An infrared sauna is different from a traditional sauna, because instead of using heated air to warm the body, it uses infrared light. Infrared light is the invisible part of the sun’s light spectrum, which we feel as heat, and it’s able to penetrate deep into the tissues of our bodies and cause us to sweat at a more comfortable temperature than traditional wet or dry saunas. The sun isn’t the only thing that radiates infrared heat– infrared heat is the same warmth that our bodies emit, and is also used to warm babies in the NICU.

Benefits include:

*Regular use of an infrared sauna can:

          *Increase metabolism

*Increase our body’s natural detoxifying abilities (helping us to detox heavy metals and BPAs)

*Have anti-aging effects by increasing our body’s production of collagen and elastin

          *Improve circulation

*Help reduce stress (which in turn slows down the rate at which we’re aging on a cellular level)

          *Relax sore muscles

*Stimulate the growth of new brain cells

*Increase norepinephrine levels (a hormone which supports focus and attention)

*Support heart health by lowering blood pressure

*Support immune function by increasing white blood cells

*Increase slow wave sleep (deep sleep)
